Exiting from the ex Jewish Ghetto we reach at the end Piazza Ravegnana, and from there you will finally see the Asinelli Tower and the Garisenda, in the centre of a sunburst from which the main streets of the citadel takes shape.

During the middle age many towers and house-towers were built, nearly 100! The Bolognese Families built it to demonstrate their power or as defence.

With its 97,2 metres the Asinelli Tower is the highest pending medieval tower in the world. Built between 1109 and 1119 by Asinelli Family is one of the 24 towers nowadays visible of the ancient Turrita Bologna.

The years do not matter and neither the slope: you can climb the 498 steps and admire the unique view!
